The new army pistol…
or the latest
bureaucratic blunder?
The Swiss Army is procuring an American P320 pistol from the U.S. company SIG SAUER, which did not meet the requirements during the intensive troop tests due to identified deficiencies.
The manufacturer has stated that these unmet technical requirements will be subject to further in-depth analysis… Furthermore, the Swiss U.S. subsidiary currently lacks the necessary know-how and infrastructure to produce this firearm in Switzerland. Production is still to be established and will continue to rely on foreign suppliers, as the weapon is not fully manufactured in Switzerland…!! To what extent these statements will be implemented in practice remains uncertain.
We recommend carefully reading the armasuisse media release dated 04.12.2025 – including between the lines.
The Swiss soldier is entitled to receive a genuine, modern and safe Swiss pistol or Swiss assault rifle, produced in Switzerland and fully compatible with Swiss ammunition under all conditions!
Why procure foreign pistols when modern, forward-looking, innovative and truly Swiss pistols exist—products that are not only technically superior and safer than foreign alternatives, but are already fully manufactured in Switzerland today, with proven Swiss quality and warranty?
We, as a down-to-earth Swiss company, have therefore developed a new Swiss pistol family, «bubits-arms®», under significant time pressure over recent months. Modular versions in subcompact and full-size configurations have been designed for the civilian market, as well as for law enforcement and military requirements. These modular solutions optimize long-term spare parts availability and reduce maintenance costs. The pistols are designed to meet the high demands placed on modern operational forces. At the same time, they remain suitable for militia use, easy to operate for both men and women, and absolutely safe. Our endurance tests have shown that all these challenges can be met. The unique features of our products are protected by patents and trademark rights. The necessary know-how for development and production remains sustainably in Switzerland. This ensures that even in times of crisis, the required supply and expertise are secured.
Unfortunately, our repeated efforts to present our «bubits-arms®» pistols to armasuisse were unsuccessful. We received several rejections based on formal grounds. In contrast to the «procurement authorities in Bern», the future «users = customers» showed strong interest in our Swiss pistols. Some have personally visited our production facilities. Various members of the armed forces, across all ranks, were also able to test this genuine Swiss pistol themselves and experience its capabilities, ease of use and excellent accuracy.
We have set ourselves the following key requirements:
- a design that is as slim, clean and lightweight as possible, while still being robust and reliable
- various safety features to prevent accidents
- fully ambidextrous (suitable for left- and right-handed users)
- suitable for large and small hands, operable with and without gloves
- high magazine capacity
- a loaded chamber indicator: visible and perceptible by touch (also in low-light conditions)
- stability during firing with a smooth trigger and minimal muzzle rise
- tool-free disassembly lever (for malfunction clearance and caliber changes)
- various sighting options without modification
- field-ready
- picatinny rail (MIL-std 1913) for accessories
- lockable to prevent unauthorized use during storage
- unique design available exclusively to the Swiss Army
- compliance with SAT standards is required (off-duty shooting)
- production in Switzerland, 100% Swiss made
